Tsunami Toll Jumps to Over 125,000

What a horrific event! It's so awful, all those poor people,
those who did not survive, those who are unaccounted for,
& those who may yet die.

Snow

It's snowing! It's so beautiful to look upon, yet so miserable for my arthritis ridden body. I guess snow has always been sort of a bittersweet experience for me, an experience of beauty & pain.

Poetry

Elizabeth Akers Allen please:

"At Last" by Elizabeth Akers Allen

At last, when all the summer shine
That warmed life's early hours is past,
Your loving fingers seek for mine
And hold them close—at last—at last!
Not oft the robin comes to build
Its nest upon the leafless bough
By autumn robbed, by winter chilled,—
But you, dear heart, you love me now.

Though there are shadows on my brow
And furrows on my cheek, in truth,—
The marks where Time's remorseless plough
Broke up the blooming sward of Youth,—
Though fled is every girlish grace
Might win or hold a lover's vow,
Despite my sad and faded face,
And darkened heart, you love me now!

I count no more my wasted tears;
They left no echo of their fall;
I mourn no more my lonesome years;
This blessed hour atones for all.
I fear not all that Time or Fate
May bring to burden heart or brow,—
Strong in the love that came so late,
Our souls shall keep it always now!

COOL! Check it out!

National Treasure

I just saw National Treasure this evening. OMG, it was sooo cool!
Definitely one to buy! And Nicolas Cage, Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, Rrrrr! I've always liked him, his brooding melancholy blue eyes,
the total package!

Stupidity

Why do some girls turn stupid when they hit puberty?
They can have a high IQ, but if their trying to attract
a boy (who, by the way, is insecure), they suddenly
become stupid.

It's so upsetting to see this. I've seen it in girls that I
know are intelligent, but when they're around a boy, they
suddenly become giggling, brainless fools. Why? I don't
understand.

I suppose they are also insecure in a way, unsure of
themselves, despite their intelligence.

Not that I'm the picture of intelligence or security
(LOL) but, I'd never want to lower myself because of
a male. Alright, I'll step off my soapbox for now.

Never attempted an online Diary.

I've never attempted an online Diary before, so, this
should be interesting.

Well, Thursday just started off on the wrong foot. The
night before I was working on an overwhelming homework
assignment, which put me in a sour mood.

I seem to be finding myself in that frame of mind lately.
This semester has been hectic. I told my sister that I feel
like I'm really not good at anything, like any talents or
abilities I may have, instead of standing out, are actually
set adrift, unrecognizable, in a nameles sea. I know that
sounds silly, but, that's how I feel sometimes.

I guess I will sign off here.
